Whose ready for Christmas?!

Hello my lovely readers. This is a simple blog about getting ready for Christmas and what I am thankful for. First of all I would like to say that yesterday was one of the best days ever. Russell and I went to Chicago for the day. We went to the Field Museum which was lame at times. I really LOVED the Egypt exhibit. Only because I am a huge nerd about that. lol. Here are a few pictures of the day.
 Sue the dinosaur
 Me and the empire peinguin
 Russell and the birds
Charlie Brown tree at the Museum of Science and Industry
 The Field Museum

These are just a few pictures taken throughout the day. It was a lot of fun and I would go again as soon as possible.

Who is ready for Christmas? This girl right here. I have a lot of presents to wrap still but, I am ready. I love this season. I love the atmosphere and I am thankful for everyone in my life. I know this isn't about college and all that, (I am on Christmas Break until January 7th) but, I haven't bogged in a long time.

Well I am going to get ready for work in a few.
Thank you all for reading,
Kaitlyn

Almost the end of the semester

As of right now, I am bored with my classes. I am 100% ready for this semester to be over and done with. I am bored with my classes and just overall bored! One more week of classes then finals the following week! I need to get cracking on study guides, extra credit and what not. I have just been shopping online the past few days for Christmas and I am happy to say I am DONE shopping this year. No more for me! lol :)
Anyways back to the school stuff. Next semester I am taking:
-American History II
-Cross Cultural Studies ELL
-Child & Adolescent Development
-Intro to Social Sciences

HOLY SOCIAL STUDIES! lol.
I am taking all of the social studies so that I can get endorsed in that subject. Only because I am behind a semester. Oh speaking of that, I have some bad news...I have to walk with the class of 2015 instead of 2014 :( Sad panda. Oh well, at least I am graduating! I am taking the Basic Skills on March 4th!!! Fingers crossed!

Well, I better get ready to go. A bunch of us are going for Chinese food and I am hungry!
Thanks for reading! Until next time.

Junior year is flying by!

I cannot believe how fast this semester is going by. I have been at the new school for 2 months now and I completely love it. I do not regret leaving Olivet. I mean, there are a few things that I miss. Like the freedom, own space (freshmen year) and the dorm life. But, I do not miss some of the people. lol I am not going to get into that one. I am sure that I have talked about that in a previous post. ANYWAYS, We have already had midterms and are getting ready for the last leap until spring. Crazy right? I do have a lot on my plate till then but, I will figure it out. My financial aid is completed and ready to go and I am in a great time in life. Classes are going well. Some of them are getting really boring (Psychology). I cannot believe that by the end of this year, my minor will be completed! Other than that, I am just studying and working all the time. I work at the gas station in town now and it is wonderful!

Well, I better start being productive.

Oh Last Thursday was...interesting.....

Last Thursday I was all excited because my morning class was "canceled" and I didn't have to be in Aurora until 10 am for my math class. Well, I wake up and get ready for school, I drive all the way there and finally find a parking spot. I sat in my car for a few minutes getting my book bag together and all that. When I look out the window and see cop cars everywhere and students being evacuated from the building...Uhmm....What is going on? I get out of my car and walk towards the building and come to find out someone called in a bomb threat on the building. So all students and staff had to be evacuated as soon as possible. Police and Public Safety were everywhere. They sent all of the students to the library or the Spartan Spot to wait until they heard more. Moments later we all get a text and the building has been completely shut down for the day. 3 out of the 4 of my classes are held there...so I left. Leaving was not fun AT ALL. The police were coning in all of the parking lots so no one could get to their cars or even try to leave. I kind of carefully pushed a cone with my car to get out of there. lol. There was NO WAY I was sitting at the school all day because of that. But other than that, nothing happened. I went home, got the house cleaned up and hung out with Russell before I had to work. That's about it. lol. Well onto homework!

Sincerely,

Kaitlyn

I don't even know lol

So I am terrible at blogging. I have really no time on my hands anymore. All I do is work and school. Seriously, that's about it. I mean I do go over to my boyfriends and all that. Well, I am going to stop boring you with the details, onto what is really important...well kind of. I am saying "goodbye" to Inboden's in two weeks. I just realized how much money I am spending in gas and having to drive a half an hour away to work a 4 hour shift. It's really not worth it at all. So I gave them my two weeks and I got a new job! I am working at the gas station that is seriously a half a block away from my house. I actually start training tonight! :) Just think of the gas I am going to save! I could walk to work if I really wanted to. But, I am working nights at the moment so I really don't want to walk home at 10pm. What else? Oh the boys and I went to a HUGE carshow in Normal. MOD (Mitsubishi Owners Day) Matt brought the Talon and we all just walked around, met some awesome people and all that. We left for MOD at 3:45 in the morning...let's just say that I was exhausted. lol. But, it was TOTALLY worth it. Here is a picture of Matt's Talon.
                                                        It's a 92' Eagle Talon AWD Turbo
What else has been going on? School has been going well. I love my Education class! We are working on a lesson plan for the Civil Rights. This is the book that i chose.
Super cute book
It's about a Mule who is a hero in the town because he was chosen to pull Dr. King's coffin down the street to his funeral. I have been working on the lesson a lot. I am going to start saving the lessons that I make and keeping them in a binder. You never know when you are going to need them! My other classes are going well, a lot of them are boring at the moment lol. But, not too bad. Each class has it's up and downs. The worse one is Psychology class. Well I better get off of the computer. I have some stuff to do before work.
till when ever I have time.

First week is over

Well the first week of class was actually awesome. I really enjoy this new school. My classes are from 8am-4:30pm...LONG day I know. But, I don't have school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday's which is nice. My first class was my Education class Research and Social Studies. This class is great. I finally got all of my books in...about time. This class right now about culture. My next class is College Algebra, my professor is really nice. He is very busy and always on the move. It's nice because it makes me class go by faster. After that I have a nice two our break which is amazing. I get to relax, eat lunch, go to the library and just enjoy the time. All I did on Thursday was lay under a tree and read. It was great to relax and just let the day go. My next class is Earth Science which is interesting. My professor is all over the place. Very nice and knows what he is talking about. However, It was kind of annoying how scattered he was. Oh well, he is a good professor. My very last class is Exceptional Individual, this class is too laid back. The professor has like no direction and is new. She works also at NIU and isn't really acquainted with AU. I mean she already canceled class for next Tuesday because she is going out of town. Well, I was given a lot of homework so I better get going.

Till next time.

A few more days!

As the days are dwindling down, I look at the calendar and think "Holy crap I start school in 5 days!" I love school. I really do. College is SO much better than High school. There are times when I miss high school but then I remember the drama, and all that and I stop that thought immediately. My classes are going to be a lot of fun. I am taking: Earth Science, College Algebra, Research & Social Studies, and Exceptional Individual. Awesome right? I am still hoping and praying that I get into the research class! It's looking like it's not going to happen right now, but it's okay. I am still going to be optimistic about all of it. There is still a chance that someone will drop the class the first week in and if that happens I will be the first to be in that spot. I seriously check the website 800x's a day. You never know! It could change when you are not paying attention. Other than that, all I can do is wait patiently for the year to begin. I have a lot of stuff to get done and I need to get on it! Tomorrow I work until 2 then I am coming home and getting stuff done until Russell gets off work. Well, I know this blog is short but, there isn't really that much to talk about. I will blog after my first day!
Thanks for reading.

Welcome home!

After driving home an hour and a half. I am finally home. This year has been crazy! So happy to be home and with the family. Today I woke up and cleaned the apartment, unbunked a bed all by myself and more. Don't forget packing my car and all of the fun stuff. I took a few pictures while I was driving out of the campus for the last time.*sigh* It's weird to think that I am not going back to Olivet in the fall. I am really not planning on coming back to campus other than to visit once and go to graduation next year because both of my cousins are graduating next year. Other than that...nothing! I am SO excited to be home. I am sitting on my couch with the girls in the kitchen eating a snack, Logan in the play pen and all of us just enjoying the time together! I missed this house!
There is really nothing I am going to miss about Olivet. I mean I loved the fact that I was out on my own and could do really what I wanted but, that's how it is going to be at home. Of course there will be rules. That is just a given. That is how Olivet was. There were some intense rules but, they weren't anything that really made me upset. I mean, not
being allowed to drink when you are 21 is something that just was weird to me, but I know why they made that rule. Well, I think that I am going to relax for a bit and cuddle with Layna.

Thank you for reading!

Tomorrow is the last day!

Oh happy, joyous day! Tomorrow is my last day of school! Last day as a sophomore in college! Hello Junior year at a new school! Super pumped! So for the time being, I am going to sow some before and after shots of the apartment! Which is going to be fun! lol. Here are two pictures of our kitchen. Looks bare right? Oh just wait. There is more!
Now onto the rest of the apartment!
 Living room looks bare :(
Our once cute office, is now a bare bedroom.
Empty and clean kitchen.

There is more that I can add, but I am going to wait until tomorrow before I head out of here! I will take pictures of the car when its packed and what not. It has been a great year! but, I am so ready to go home!
Thanks for reading!
Until tomorrow/
-Kaitlyn :)
