The first few days of Christmas break 2011

Well lets begin with the end of the semester. It was hectic! Filled with studying and cleaning. Don't forget the studying. I only had 2 actual test finals but still! Biology final was terrible! 100 questions over everything we learned throughout the semester, not to mention the new stuff we worked on the week before. Felt like that class was never going to end! I also had to take a final in American Government. That wasn't too bad. I got a 92/100 which is an A and that is all I care. That class also was dumb but, oh well I had to take it. Other than that, finals were okay. I had to write a 3 paragraph essay and give a presentation for my other two classes. In my Psychology class, the test was optional...so i decided not to take it. lol. No thank you. I was the last person in the apartment on the day so I had to sign us all out. I didn't take too long. After that, I drove home to meet my family and Russell.

Last Saturday was my Grandma's Christmas party. We opened presents (I got a Vera Bradley duffel bag and a Kureig coffeemaker) then we went for dinner at the Court Yard. We seriously go there every year since I can remember. It was great to spend time with everyone and just have a good old time. Before those festivities we decorated cookies and did our ornament exchange. Debi had me, she got me an ornament that was pink and black zebra print...perfect right?! No we are on to Tuesday of my break, tomorrow I have to work 8-3 which sucks but, whatever it is money. I haven't worked at Arts for like 4 months. I may need a refresher! No, I will need a refresher! lol.

Other than that, this break has been great. I cannot wait to spend more time with everyone. If I don't talk to you before Christmas...Merry Christmas!!! but, who knows what will happen.

Saturday :)

What is a college student supposed to do on Saturdays? Oh yah...homework. That is one thing that I hate. Oh well, gotta do it. I have a lot to do before the end of the semester. I need to get things done and really study...I hate studying. I have never really had a study habit. So how do I start now? Guess, I really need to figure that one out. Today, I have to work on my dreadful T-Plus (last one), book report (last one), take an online test, work on my literature project and many more. I was hoping to get out of the apartment today and do some light Christmas shopping so that I could get ahead. We will see about that one.

Friday: Well classes went by fast. Thank goodness. All of the roomies and I, plus our friend Jessica went shopping. I spent WAY too much money, but oh well. I go a lot of Christmas presents, 2 of my nieces are done and the other I just need to get her a shirt. Then onto Logan, and the rest of the family. Thank goodness I get paid soon. After all of the shopping festivities, we came back and had our roommate dinner. Stephanie made chicken paddies and french fries...yummy! Then we attempted to watch "Elf", however, Heidi came over and they wanted to work out. So I watched them work out, which not gonna lie was pretty funny. Then we decided to watch "Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition." That show makes me want to cry.

Well, I am going to attempt to get some stuff done today. Waiting for a drier so I can get my laundry done. I think that I am going to go to the Mall today and run to Victoria Secret and Bath and Body Works. I am out of hand sanitizer! lol

Well...

Hello readers, it has been a REALLY longtime since i decided to blog. There has just been A LOT going on in the past few months. Has it really been almost 2 months? whoops my bad. Anyways, lets begin with some updates. This semester is almost over with. Less than 3 weeks then it is finally Christmas break! WHOOT! Super excited. We all just got back from Thanksgiving break on Sunday which is okay i guess. I had to be back for work at 10! Oh did I mention that I got a job? I am working at the ACE Hardware in town. They hired me because I had almost 2 years of experience. Which is fantastic! I need the money! lol

Lets see, other than that not much has been going on. School is just going by super fast! I think that I am ready to go home now! This semester just flew by and I have so much to do in the next few weeks. I am exhausted! Christmas break is coming at a good time. What else? oh! Lillian is doing so much better now. Her scar is healing and she is back to her normal perky kindergarten self. My birthday was a few weeks ago! I turned 20! Weird huh? Next birthday will be crazy! I think the plan is to go to the casino but who knows. We have a whole year to plan.

I need to go Christmas shopping! I only have 2 presents done and they were really cheap! hoping to have all of them before Christmas break! I am so ready for this week to be over. I just want the weekend. (even though it is going to be filled with homework). I have 2 projects due next week! Oh and a group project in which the group has not met or even really talked about what we are going to do! AHHH! It's okay. We will be fine. I have my part done :) lol.

Well, I am going to get ready for the day. It is extremely cold out and i think that it is going to snow! love you all. I will try and keep up with blogging when I can! :)

Long time no blog

Sorry for the long wait. It has been a hectic couple weeks. From school to fall break and more. Lets see: Update on Lillian. She is getting so much better. She is out of the hospital and is home now. She is back to her normal self that is for sure. :) Last week , i just got back from fall break which was great! I loved it! I really needed a break. Before I left for break, I was offered a job at the local ACE hardware in town. Of course I took it! It's money! lol.

The past couple days have been hectic. A lot of homework and all that. I got most of it done yesterday which was awesome. We all went to the football game yesterday and we won! 38-7. Second win of the year! lol. I got to see my Aunt and Uncle which was fun. Last night all i did was homework. I couldn't sleep very well but hey I am up now.

Today: the roomies and I are going to the Pumpkin patch. We are going to take pictures and get pumpkins for the apartment. I am super excited! Pictures will be posted later. Well, I am going to get ready for this gorgeous day!

Updates on Lillian

I posted last time about how my niece was in the hospital and all of that. Well a lot has happened in the past few day. Yesterday morning, they did a CT scan to see what is causing the abdominal pain. The found a blockage in her bowel. So, a few hours later they took her into surgery where they found more than they expected. She had an internal hernia in her lower intestines that the intestines had wrapped around and lodged into a congenital opening in her abdomen that wasn't supposed to be there. Blood was also being filled into the opening and that's why her blood count was so low. They cleared the hernia, shut the opening and reattached the intestines. Because of the low blood count, that could have cause her blood count to be so low so she may not have type one diabetes! They kept her under all night to make sure that she wasn't in a lot of pain this morning when she wakes up. They are going to be taking out the breathing tube and waking her up sometime this morning! She is such a little inspiration! :)

Friday, the roomies and I went to Olive Garden, Old Navy and Target! It was fun to get out and forget out the things going on at home. We had a great time. Sarah A, wanted a new wardrobe so we helped her pick out new clothes! It was so much fun. I got a shirt and a scarf which I am going to be wearing to church this morning with the girls and our RA.

I cannot wait to come home next week! I get to leave after my 8:30 class! My noon was cancelled and well, I am going to skip my 1pm! hahah. It's just Psych. It will be the first time I have skipped at all this semester.

Well, I am waiting on result from the auditions I went to on Thursday. They were for the Cleffhangers. (Show Choir). It was so much fun! It was so nice to sing and dance again! I miss performing! I need to get back into my old stage career! lol:)

Well, I am going to get ready for church. We have to leave soon and I don't want to be the last one in the bathroom! lol.

Not a good day....

Well, I woke up this morning to my phone going off like crazy. I answered and it was my Mom. She told me that my niece Lillian (5) is in the hospital. She woke up in the middle of the night screaming because he stomach hurt. They called an ambulance and took her to the hospital. At the hospital they took her blood and found out that her blood sugar was over 355. More tests, found out that she has juvenile diabetes. She was transported to a hospital in Park Ridge where she will be there for a few days to get her blood sugar regulated. Also, the doctor is going to teach my brother and sister-in-law what they need to do and all that. I just talked to my Brother and he gave me the number to get a hold of him and her room number. He also said that Lillian looks like a robot with all the machines attached to her. :( my poor baby. I am not going to post this one on Facebook because it is too personal but, I will keep it posted here. I woke up super early and I am exhausted.

I have 2 classes today and I am tempted to skip both of them. I feel like that I won't be able to concentrate at all. I am going to be worried sick all day. I hate being so far away. I want to go home and help but, I have to much homework to do this weekend. I don't know what to do. It is going to be a long day. I tried to go back to sleep but, I just couldn't, my body wouldn't let me. Every time I hear and update about Lilly I cry. I know that diabetes is a big deal and I know that she is just a little girl who has it. Makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it. At least they caught it when she was young. I don't know. I feel like today is going to be a waste. The roomies want me to go with them to Olive Garden but, I don't know if I am going to go. I feel like I need to get stuff done and try to make a trip home.

We will see what happens. I am attaching a picture of Lilly so you can see how cute she is. I love this girl. She is my oldest niece.

SO SORRY

To my readers.
Sorry that it has been such a long time since my last post. My netbook was so tiny that it took so long to even get onto the internet! Today I got my Hp back! yay! It is working wonderfully!

Okay time to catch up: The past week has been...INSANE! Professors are just loading on the homework and exams like crazy! I guess it is just the time of the year? nah. So I am sitting here waiting for my laundry to finish drying. I haven't been home in 2 weeks! CRAZY. But I will be home soon! We have fall break coming up!

So I put in an application at the Ace Hardware here in town! I really hope that I get the job! I need some sort of income! I am grateful that my Mom and Dad can give me some money every week. I love my parents! Which speaking of parents...My mom is finally home!!!!! Super happy! Her and Dad came to visit last weekend for a while. We went to the Mall, out for lunch, then to Target to get some groceries for me :) I got my Dad to buy me "Beauty and the Beast" I love that movie.

Well I am going to do some homework until my laundry is done. Surprisingly I don't have the much to do! Shocker! lol :)

"it's a little tiny laptop"

Dear readers,
Due to the nature of how tiny this laptop is, I might not be posting as much as I usually do. I currently am using a 10in Dell Net-book Nickelodeon Edition. I was using a 17in Hp Pro4710s. BIG difference. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for this laptop. My Parents got it for me for Christmas one year. I love it. It is just tiny! Lets hope my HP doesn't take FOREVER to be fixed.

Side note: One good thing about coming home out of no where is...I woke up to the smell of bacon! That has made my day so far! Today, Russell is going to update the operating system on this laptop because, I went to register it with ONU and I can't, it's WAY out of date. Not sure what else is going on tonight. I know tomorrow my Dad is going to check and see what is making the clunking noise in the back end of my car. We are thinking the shocks are going out. I do need to get the headlight fixed (bulb is going out).

When I came home yesterday, I was attacked by Jack. I love that dog. He was so happy that I was home. Cooper was happy but not like Jackson. My cat (General Snickers Fartworthy III) was sleeping on the table on my Dad's clothes! Don't ask about the name, totally my Dad, except for the Snickers part. I went to dinner last night with my Dad. We went to the Santa Fe, which I haven't been to in a while. I wish my Mom was home. I miss her! Hopefully, her and Dad can come and see me next week sometime.

Well, I am going to get cleaned up for the day. I have to run to the UPS store to ship my laptop and I might make a quick trip to Walmart.

Just one of those days

It's Thursday! Tomorrow is Friday!!!! I could not be happier...even though I have an exam tomorrow...that's what I am going to do tonight...study! Lets see....updates; my laptop is broken! Well, kinda..it works and everything just the charging port likes to not work sometimes. So it is going to be sent in as soon as I get the box! Which means I will be using the tiny tiny netbook for about a month while this one is getting fixed....FUN! I can at least carry that one around! Tonight we are having a pizza and study/ research party! oh joy!

OH my Dad is coming this Saturday with Lillian. Super excited! We are going for lunch and he is going to buy me ink! lol. I don't need groceries, I went out and bought that yesterday. Well, I know this is a short blog but, I have stuff to do. I have to pick Sarah up at 6 in front of Ludwig, we are going to get "Little Caesars" for dinner!

I love sleeping in :)

I think that Tuesdays are the best day of the week right now. I don't have class until 1:30, and that is my only class of the day. One thing I do have to do is homework and study! I already have an exam on Friday in Psych. LAME! Oh well, it's college.

Last night I was alone in the apartment for a while, which was odd but nice. I went to Panda Express for dinner, yah that didn't settle quite right. I think I had old food, so I got sick. The girls were planning on walking to DQ, I ended up staying here and not moving from the couch. I went to bed somewhat earlier than usual. I talked to Russell for a bit, then passed out. Now it is is 9:oo in the morning and I slept almost 12 hours. I guess I needed sleep!

I am not sure what is going on tonight. I need to get some groceries! I am running out of stuff! Oh I forgot to mention! Last weekend I went over to my brothers house to visit, pick up a TV and see the girls. Layna is so stinking cute! I love her! I miss those babies so much! That is one thing I hate about being away, I miss the people at home. My parents, Russell, Kj +family, Krista and everyone. I don't get homesick too much. Only when I sit and think about it a lot. I love my family.

Well, I am going to play the Sims3 for a while. Then, I am going to study and get ready for the day.

Sum it up!

I completely forgot to blog this weekend! My bad, I was just so busy! That fair was great! I got to spend it with my love <3 We went to the tractor pulls with Jess and Andrew. It was fun to see the trucks and it was insanely loud!

It was a great weekend. But, now I am back at school. Ollies Follies were tonight. Sophomores were 3rd place. (kinda knew it). Seniors were amazing!!!!! Juniors were great...freshmen were kinda hard to follow but they did good. I did like the fact that they put in "Loathing" from Wicked and "Savages" from Pocahontas. Sophomores were awesome! "Party in the USA", "Fireworks" and more. Juniors were really good. Valentines day is such a great holiday to have. Seniors...WOW! The "Ghost of Christmas Past" was AMAZING!

Now we are back at the apartment eating dinner and watching TV!

Okay okay

So I usually try to write a blog everyday either before or after classes. Yup, I am have been slaking! blah, oh well. I am a college student and it has been a LONG week! Today is....FRIDAY! "Friday, Friday gotta get down on Friday"...Sorry the Rebecca Black quote. That song just works for the time being. One thing that I am excited about is...I'm going home today! I am going to see my Daddy and Russell (boyfriend). Then tomorrow I am going to the fair!!! Yay! I love the fair! I didn't go at all last year because I was in school and I didn't have a car...this year, I have my car and I am going home for sure. I packed almost everything last night.

Last night was amusing. Sarah A, Sarah T and I all did our nails! Mine are sparkly hot pink! whoot! Anyways, after all of that we watched "Friends" and relaxed. I should have been working on my resource file, but it was making me mad, so I stopped. Later, we were going to bed and we noticed that the stove was on. I used the stove on Wednesday to make brownies. I DID turn it off. We go to turn off lights and the stove was on...When did that happen? Odd.

Well, I am going to get myself ready for the day. I am still tired! 3 classes then, a 2 hour drive but, it is totally worth it :)

Blah!

So yesterday wasn't eventful at all. Basically all I did was go to lunch with Sarah A in the Redroom, than I had an hour and a half to do nothing. I went to the library! I feel so accomplished! I found my book for my book report for American Civilization (all by my self). I went up to the 3rd floor for the first time!

Later, I had class from 1:30- 2:45. It was LONG! Studies in Literature! Fun Fun! After all of that, I came back here, got into my car and went to Maurices and Walmart. I love Maurices. That place is like my second home. The lady there was really nice and she informed me that the lady leaving the store when I walked in bought over $600 worth of clothing! Wish I could spend that much! All I got was a sweater and a t-shirt.

At Walmart I bought the things to make my room mate dinner. It is my week. I am making Polska Kielbasa and Macaroni n' Cheese! Simple dinner because I have to save money for the fair this weekend! AHH! I am so excited for the fair! I'm not going to get into that now, that is for my Sunday morning blog. Well, I am going to get ready for class!

Another day in the Bourbs.

So remember me mentioning Ollies Follies? Yah, Sophomores...stunk. That's just putting it lightly but, it's okay. I still love my class. I know we are going to kick butt at the Variety Show! The night was a lot of fun! I got a lot of picture and really dressed up to support our class. Red, white and blue is simple enough. Plus, everything was half off :) The games included tug-of-war, chugging sweet tea, root beer and half n' half, eating, and the famous inner tube game!

It was great to see the different classes and much they support each other. Oh there was also the marshmallow in the flour game. Some of the Seniors thought it would be funny to throw the marshmallows into the stand. Well, one hit me in the shoulder. It kinda hurt! It was one of those giant campfire ones. It was funny though. Sarah A got a picture of my shoulder and me making a sad face.

Well after all of the festivities I went to bed. I was exhausted! The girls stayed up a little bit later. I remember talking to Russell then falling asleep. It was a very fun day that I will never forget! This is one of my favorite days of the entire school year. The variety show is next Sunday and I am so excited for that! We are going to be awesome! "USA,USA" :)

I'm planning on blogging again before I go to bed to upload more photos!

Good morning!

Good morning, or almost afternoon. This morning I have been cleaning the apartment while the girls went to church. I am already warn out! I washed the kitchen and bathroom floors, scrubbed the counters and the bathtub, cleaned the toilet and sink, washed all of the mirrors, cleaned my fish tank and desk, and tidied up the living-room. There is more, but I don't want to bore you.

Last night, Ollies Follies relay games were cancelled due to a huge thunderstorm. So they are tonight. Once again, GO SOPHOMORES! The girls and I went to "Little Caesars" for dinner and we each bought our own pizza. They were only $5, so now we all have leftovers! We invited Tracy over and she joined us for dinner and a game of "Apples to Apples." Yah, I won! :)

After all of that, a few of the girls worked out with Richard Simmons! "Sweat to the Oldies" was the DVD. Pretty funny to see the outfits and watch Richard Simmons...he had one interesting outfit! Speaking of outfits, the girls always make fun of me because I get annoyed when ever I see a Freshmen wear booty shorts. Its a rule, why aren't they getting warnings? Or maybe they are and are just not listening to them. I am not sure why it bugs me so much!

Overall this morning has been productive! Now to get myself cleaned up and start the day! I have to do some homework, but I got most of it done.

Here we go!

Well, here I am! Kaitlyn is my name and blogging is my game! I was inspired to write a blog by my roommate Sarah. She has had one for a while and it looks like fun! :) Well, lets see...today is going to be great, I can already tell. Later tonight is the Ollies Follies relay games. GO SOPHOMORES! It's still weird to say "sophomore" sometimes I have to correct myself. We shall see how it goes. I think we are going to be awesome, but who knows. It is just going to be fun to cheer for our class and spend time with the roomies. Speaking of roomies, I have 3 of them! Sarah A, Sarah T, and Stephanie...yes, I am the only "K."

Last night the girls and I went to the Block Party. Wow, were there a lot of people there! Free food, blow up games and rock climbing. Oh, and we got our picture taken with Dr. Bowling, the President of the University. That was cool!


It was so much fun! Then after the block party, the girls wanted to go and do something. I was hesitant at first, but I went. We got in Sarah's car and went to Target. Where we walked around and I bought sticky notes with kittens on them! hahah :) Oh and Sarah and I found a fun way to entertain ourselves in the dollar section. We found foam weapons and hit Stephanie with them, then of course we started hitting each other.

After all that, we went to McDonalds, then back to campus where we watched 5 episodes of "Friends." Well, that's all for this morning. I will keep you all posted on who won Ollies Follies and more :) Talk to you later tonight!
